Liverpool is going to be busy over the course of the next few weeks. As well as getting more signings over the line, there are still decisions to be made on more loan exits and Nat Phillips is still a Reds man but needs a move elsewhere to find game time.

The main priority has to be to find replacements for Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, though. Liverpool is losing a couple of key men in the middle of the pitch and they will need to be replaced in terms of their body in the squad but also ideally in terms of experience.

Getting in fresh legs is no bad thing, but losing both Fabinho and Henderson in one go at this point in the summer is not something that Liverpool was expecting or fully preparing for until recently.

Liverpool would ideally get a signing or two over the line before moves for Fabinho and Henderson to Saudi Arabia are confirmed, but even then, every selling clubs know the desperation that exists around the Reds getting at least one midfield player in.

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer stories to emerge around the Reds today, starting with the latest on Henderson's future as he nears a departure.

Jordan Henderson latest

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson underwent his medical ahead of a move to join up with Steven Gerrard at Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia in the last couple of days, according to Al Riyadiah, a daily Arabic newspaper in the region.

The Athletic reports that it was mainly done on Friday in Manchester, with the final paperwork now being prepared. Henderson had, of course, left Liverpool's training camp in Germany earlier in the week to conclude the deal.

Henderson is set to complete a deal worth an initial $15m (£12m/€14m) and will leave Liverpool after signing under Kenny Dalglish back in 2011, arriving in the same summer as Stewart Downing and Charlie Adam.

Liverpool.com says: It is a shame that this is how Henderson's time at Anfield will come to a close. Rather than get a send-off after 12 years, he will move to a club in a region that is problematic, with the interest coming completely out of the blue.

Jürgen Klopp confirms transfer plan

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has confirmed that the Reds will complete more transfer business before the start of the Premier League season, with the game against Chelsea now just three weeks away.

"There are so many things to do," Klopp said on the We Are Liverpool podcast, which came out this weekend. "The transfer window is open. If my day would have 28 hours at the moment it would not be a problem — I could fill them easily!

"With all the things you have to do left and right, my main focus and energy has to go into the training sessions then that's what I do. Then either side of the sessions I can try to help with other stuff.

"Still three-and-a-half weeks until the first game of the season. A few things have to happen before then, definitely, transfer market-wise as well. That is clear now. And it will happen. New players have to come in. We will have a good team."

Liverpool.com says: The need for new signings is clear. Liverpool needs to get something done sooner rather than later so that whoever comes in has as much time as possible to get settled in.
