England's U21 side put on a show on Thursday night against Serbia and there were plenty of things to keep an eye on for Liverpool fans as the Three Lions recorded a stunning 9-1 victory. Most notable was the performance of Harvey Elliott who played a key role in securing that impressive result getting himself on the scoresheet a couple of times.

But as well as Elliott, there was also a debut at this level for Liverpool's Jarell Quansah, who came on in the last few minutes of the game, and there was another player to keep an eye on for the club as well, who was linked with a transfer to Anfield over the course of the summer.

Jaden Philogene-Bidace's agent was reported by Anfield Watch to have 'held talks' with Liverpool over the summer after his client caught the eye for Aston Villa in pre-season. However, in the end, Philogene-Bidace moved to Hull City on a permanent basis in the Championship, where he has immediately caught the eye.

In six games so far, Philogene-Bidace has scored one goal and registered three assists averaging a goal contribution every 135 minutes. This is all the more impressive considering he has been playing as a wing-back for his new side.

That form has been recognised at international level as well with Philogene-Bidace receiving a call-up to the England U21 team for the first time where he made his debut in style against Serbia.

The young winger scored twice and registered an assist playing a big role in the victory alongside Elliott and that performance alongside the way he has started the campaign in the Championship could alert Liverpool's attention once again.

Both for the England U21 team and for Hull City in Tyler Morton, he has Liverpool teammates, which means he will be often playing in front of the eyes of someone from the club. If he keeps going the subject of a potential transfer to Anfield could be revisited. Only 21 years old, Liverpool could be in need of a homegrown versatile winger, even with a lot of options upfront already.

Liverpool transfer Jaden Philogene-Bidace
Jaden Philogene-Bidace was reportedly on Liverpool's transfer radar.

Philogene-Bidace's ability to play on either flank and both as a wing-back and as a winger makes him the kind of versatile player Jürgen Klopp loves to work with. On top of that, he's also got the explosive speed and the intelligence to make the right decisions in the final third.

This summer a move to Liverpool would have come too soon. Dropping down to the Championship in search of more game time at Hull City was definitely the right decision. Recently players like Jarrod Bowen and Keane Lewis-Potter have used the club as a springboard to earn moves to the Premier League and Philogene-Bidace could be next.

Considering the fact that Liverpool seemingly held talks with his agent it would not be a surprise if the club's scouts continued to monitor his progress this season as well. As mentioned above with the likes of Morton and Elliott playing alongside him at club and international level, that also makes things easier. That is why in summary, he is a player worth keeping an eye on.
