Liverpool's own Marcus Rashford has already shown Manchester United ace what he should be doing

Liverpool has needed some big moments recently and has had big players able to step up. Jamie Carragher nailed it on Marcus Rashford at Man United this weekend.

With Liverpool having beaten Fulham this weekend, and Manchester City then dropping more points, this time against Spurs, it was a good weekend for Jürgen Klopp's side. Whether or not it can go all the way in the Premier League title race remains to be seen but the signs that a Champions League finish is back on the cards are already clear.

At Anfield on Sunday, Liverpool did not play well for the most part. It took four spectacular strikes to win the game and compensate for some individual errors at the back. When the Reds fell behind with around 10 minutes of normal time to go, a big comeback needed to be produced.

When that is the case, big players step up. Wearing his Adidas Predator boots, Trent Alexander-Arnold did just that. The technique on his shot to beat Bernd Leno was immaculate and it should really have been his second of the game, with the number 66's free-kick in the first half rather unfortunately going down as an own goal.

When Liverpool needed its local hero, Alexander-Arnold duly delivered. His sliding celebration onto his front, he later explained, was because he didn't want to risk reopening up a wound on his knee. It might only have been a coincidence that it came two days short of 24 years since Steven Gerrard did the same thing after a goal against Sheffield Wednesday, but it was poetic.

There are many differences at the moment between Liverpool and Manchester United but Alexander-Arnold doing a Gerrard impression of sorts is certainly one. Jamie Carragher summed it up well over the weekend.

"It looks like big problems [at Manchester United]," Carragher said on Sky Sports, discussing the Old Trafford side's 1-0 defeat at Newcastle United. "I can't actually believe where Man United are in the table.
