Liverpool loanee can do 'everything'

Hull City manager Liam Rosenior has raved about Liverpool loanee Tyler Morton during their impressive 2023/24 season, which currently sees the Tigers sitting in sixth place in the Championship.

The 21-year-old arrived at the club on deadline day and was able to add his second goal in as many games during the recent 4-1 win against Rotherham United on Tuesday evening.

Speaking after the game, Rosenior raved about the Liverpool youngster, claiming he could do 'everything' following another impressive showing in midfield.

“Some of his play, honestly. He can do everything as a midfield player,” raved the manager via “When we were recruiting in the summer, he fits completely into the way we want to play.

“The beauty with Tyler is he can play deep and he can be just as effective there, but what we’ve seen in training is he can create and score goals.

“It was about fitting the functionality of the team around him. He was outstanding.”

Liverpool star makes honest admission

Liverpool star Cody Gakpo has admitted he has been off the pace throughout the 2023/24 campaign, with injuries and a lack of regular game-time hindering his current form.

This season has seen a new-look Liverpool side take shape, with Jürgen Klopp yet to decide on his strongest starting eleven, which in turn has left players such as Gakpo uncertain of the role they will play in the team.

The Netherlands international has made 11 appearances for the Reds in the Premier League this season, with just six of them arriving in the starting line-up, where he has managed to score just two goals so far.

When asked about his current form for the club ahead of the game against LASK (via, the Dutchman admitted he is yet to find his rhythm this season. “Obviously I’ve been in a few different positions, striker, midfield and left wing.

“I think I can do better. You want to improve every day and become a better player all the time. Working hard to become a better player.”

Gakpo arrived at Anfield in January from PSV Eindhoven in a deal worth around $54m (£42m/€49m), where he would go on to make a solid start with seven goals and two assists across 17 starts. Despite this, he is yet to hit the heights he did at PSV prior to his move, where he recorded nine goals and 12 assists across 14 appearances, outlining that there is room for growth and development in red.
