Liverpool is back in Premier League action later today as it looks to strengthen its position in the top four against Nottingham Forest at Anfield. The Reds have won all of their home games so far this season, and they’ll be aiming to continue that run against Steve Cooper’s side.

With both Tottenham and Arsenal having won already this weekend, Jürgen Klopp’s side won’t get the chance to climb to the top of the table. With Manchester City in action against Manchester United later though, there is the possibility of climbing above Pep Guardiola’s side.

Following another quick turnaround from Thursday’s Europa League win over Toulouse, Klopp wasn’t able to give the latest injury news as usual on Friday. With no obvious problems emerging against the French side though, it’s probably safe to assume that the Liverpool boss has the same set of players to choose from three days later.

That means Andy Robertson, Thiago Alcântara, Stefan Bajčetić and Conor Bradley will all miss out, while Ben Doak has also been missing recently after picking up a knock with Scotland U21s. Having played in midweek, Curtis Jones will miss out once again as he serves the final game of his domestic suspension following his red card at Spurs.

Klopp though has been handed a boost this week, with Cody Gakpo making his return following a short lay-off as he made his way off the bench against Toulouse. The Dutchman will be back in contention for his first start since being forced off at Tottenham.
