Windows Home Server – Corrupts files!

Absurd but wholly predictable!

 As pointed out in the MS KBase article 946676, Windows Home Server is corrupting files saved to the Network Share from the following applications:

  • Windows Vista Photo Gallery   
  • Windows Live Photo Gallery 
  • Microsoft Office OneNote 2007 
  • Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 
  • Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 
  • Microsoft Money 2007 
  • SyncToy 2.0 Beta 

All the more reason for vendors to start shipping an OpenSolaris ZFS>CIFS solution with real-time virus scanning built in.
